This was our trip to Jacksonville, FL.  We watched the US men's team play Nigeria before they went to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup.

We weren't able to watch the men play in Brazil, but we did make the drive from Louisiana to Winnipeg to watch the women play for the World Cup in 2015. It was quite the adventure, but did we ever have a blast!

After winning the World Cup, the women went on a 10 game victory tour. This picture was from the victory tour game in Birmingham, AL.  We even got to take a picture with the trophy!

This picture was from the last game on the victory tour in New Orleans.  It was also Abby Wambach's final game.  A friend sent me this picture when he saw us on TV during the National Anthem!

At home, I have been happily married since 2006.  Together we have one amazing daughter and two very old dogs.  My wife and I met in Shreveport when we were in college.  In 2007, we moved to Denham Springs to be closer to friends and family.  We have stayed here since then.  My wife is a Pre-K teacher, and we even had the opportunity to work at the same school for a couple of years.

Though I am not in the same shape I once was, I still enjoy playing a variety of sports.  I am fortunate enough to have a kickball league nearby that runs year-round.  Seasonally, I have played indoor and outdoor soccer, indoor and sand volleyball, and softball.  I also have enjoyed coaching our school teams in track, cross country, volleyball, and softball.

When it comes to sports, I can become a pretty excited fan for just about anything.  I enjoy the major sports like many other people, but I get ridiculously excited about international events like the World Cup and the Olympics, both winter and summer.  I have not had the pleasure of attending the Olympics yet, but we have been to a handful of US soccer games.  We even got to drive to Winnipeg in 2015 for the Women's World Cup.  It was an amazing experience! Check out the pictures below.

As a child, I lived all around the country.  I was born in St. Paul, MN, which is where most of my extended family still lives today. We made several moves from there, living in Ohio, Nevada, two different towns in New Jersey, before my parents finally settled in Slidell, LA.  Somehow, my dad managed to stop getting transferred, and they still live in that house today.

I went to college in Shreveport and earned a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science from Centenary College.  I then attended Grambling State University to earn my teaching certificate.  I have my certificate in both special education and physical education, and have taught both over the past 12 years.  I eventually decided to go back to school and recently graduated from University of Idaho with a M. Ed. in Physical Education.

Aside from teaching, I have enjoyed coaching after schools sports for our school's teams and for my daughter's teams as well.  I have coached volleyball, softball, soccer, cross country and track.  To this point, they have all been elementary-aged children.  I like teaching new skills to the kids and watching them grow within the sport.  I especially like seeing my former players come back and tell me of the success they're having in junior high and high school, even if it isn't in the sport I had the pleasure of coaching them.

I am so excited to be back in my home state of Minnesota!  It has been many years since I could claim to be a resident, but I always came back to visit.  This past summer, my family decided to take the plunge and move here from Louisiana.  We are all looking forward to getting to know the area and all of the people in it!
